I this walking fossil−
waiting the hours
for the eons of lying
between sheets
of time’s rock−
make imprints in
my mud like
ancient ribs of leaves
and shell-less eyes−
find myself by traces−
a hand revealed
by its thin bones−
a jagged spine
and flattened skull−
I a skittering
beneath sun shadows−
sing the silence in
the spaced wonders−
meaning nothing more
than the nothing less−
